Public Comment Period for Revision of AEMUS Program Requirements

The Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Accreditation Council (EUFAC) is currently accepting comments to support its proposed revision recommendations on the Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS) Fellowship Program Requirements (the Program Requirements) to the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM).

There are over 130 EUFAC accredited AEMUS fellowship programs which adhere to the Program Requirements and continue to follow their guidance.

In accordance with our Emergency Ultrasound (EUS) community, EUFAC seeks to ensure that the program requirements provide the appropriate framework to graduate fellows who will successfully advance the field. Specific suggestions from fellowship program leaders who have implemented the program requirements will be most valuable.

Please note that the AEMUS Program Requirements are overseen by ABEM. The EUFAC’s current responsibility lies in making recommendations to ABEM for the potential revision of the Program Requirements that fit into the framework of the EUFAC AEMUS fellowship accreditation. Ultimately, any changes to the Program Requirements are decided by ABEM.

Suggestions for proposed revisions need to benefit the entire EUS fellowship community and be supported by detailed reasoning.
