The EUFAC is sharing a visual prepared by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), which provides information on current timelines to obtain a Focused Practice Designation (FPD) in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound.
Training programs are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the FPD exam eligibility requirements and the timelines to ensure their fellows meet all criteria and deadlines. Detailed information about the FPD can be found on the ABEM website.
Non-EUFAC accredited programs are advised to be aware of the timeframe of eligibility for fellows graduating from their programs to ensure requirements for the “training + practice” can be met.
Programs must submit an application for EUFAC initial accreditation by April 1 of each year in order for EUFAC to review by June 30 of that academic year.
(Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis up until the deadline and will be reviewed on a rolling basis again after July of that year. Programs submitting after April 1 might not have their application reviewed before the end of the academic year, which means the fellows who already graduated in June will have graduated from an unaccredited program.)
For any questions regarding training program accreditation, contact the EUFAC Administrative Office.
